Accept my heartfelt sympathy on the death of Arthur. I learned of his death just today. We had become Facebook friends thinking we may have been related but discovering we weren't. One man's death diminishes all of us. May he rest in peace. Solus na bhlaitheas ar a Anam (The light of Heaven to his soul)

Clark Broden

As a BU undergrad in the 60's, I worked for Art as an intern during my senior year. I helped Art promote a basketball game that year as one of my fondest memories of him. He helped me get a few interviews as a publicist or journalist at several institutions. Although I took a different career path, I was always grateful for his guidance. A true BU Terrier and super guy. Clark Broden, BU '64

To Diana and Family,
Arthur will be sorely missed. He was truly a renaissance man-intelligent,compassionate,sports guru, giver but most of all a wonderful human soul! Diana, we know your sorrow is deep, but you can take comfort in having shared so many rich years together.
We will miss Art, but we are all better off having been a small part of his life. Love, Lou and Aliisa

Dear Diana, Doug, Scott, Denise and all of the Dunphy family,
I am so sorry for Art's passing. He was a wonderful man who lived his life with much dignity and love. I have so many fond memories of the house in Cohasset and of the "new house" in Scituate. I so appreciate how when we were growing up, he treated me like more than "just a kid." He and Diana always had expectations that I would be a whole and intelligent person. I learned so much from watching your marriage. Thank you Art for always being a friendly and solid presence in my life. My heart really aches for your family. You were a true patriarch. Sending you all love.

All my best,
Merideth

I was so sorry to learn about Art. I remember well our times together broadcasting hockey and football on WBUR and WTBU back in the 60's. In recent years when we'd see each other in The Club at Agganis Arena before hockey games we'd often talk about what a good time that was. A true gentleman, Art will always be a BU highlight for me. My thoughts are with Diana and all the Dunphys.
