Susan was born in Boston, MA, to the late Paul and Virginia (Laughlin) Barstow. She went to Scituate High School, Berklee College of Music, and Chamberlayne Junior College. She owned the Kenyon-Barstow Company since 2003. Susan loved gardening, traveling, the ocean, stained glass, and sea glass.
Survived by beloved husband Michael J. Mahan of Hull, MA, four stepchildren Carolyn Ebey of Columbia City. IN, Adam Mahan of North Providence, RI, Desiree Mahan of Lincoln, RI, Dana Mahan of Worcester, MA, sister Jeanne Conner and husband Robert of Cottonwood, AZ, stepmother Laurie Schmidt of Boston, MA, and aunt of the late Mark and Wayne Thorpe.
Burial will be private. Reception information will be posted here when available.

Our condolences to you Mike and Susan´s family...We are saddened to hear of Sue´s passing...we´ll miss her and have found memories of her as her neighbors from Quincy... I used to love our little chats by the fence before she would leave work to go home ...I loved her pleasant personality and smile... we would always root for the Patriots the Celtics and the Red Sox and the Bruins and have a good laugh... just in shock right now that she is gone way too early ...we will miss her and our thoughts are with you all and the family , love Paul and Micaela Bishop

Susan played piano and she played for me, Dave Hermance, the late Bill White and Bubba Larson for a variety show at Scituate high school our senior year. The song was a comedy from the musical 1776 called "But Mr Adams". I remember how grateful I was that she was there and willing to accompany us. Very kind, giving, and thoughtful. I didn´t thank her enough.
