Jean Rose (Smith) Jamieson, of Weymouth, died suddenly following a brief illness on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the PAM Health in Stoughton. She was 72.
Born in Weymouth on January 12, 1953, she was raised in Scituate, attended local schools, and graduated from Scituate High School. Later furthering her education to earn her certification as a dental hygienist. Jean built a fulfilling career for Angelo’s and then as a bakery manager for Stop & Shop. She was hardworking and dedicated, Jean took pride in everything she did and touched many lives through her kindness and care.
Jean was married to her beloved husband, James, for 47 wonderful years. Together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and simple joys. They especially cherished their time vacationing in New Hampshire, where they made countless memories together. Jean had a plain and humble nature, never needing much more than the company of her husband and those she loved most to feel fulfilled.
Her Catholic faith was central to her life, and she was a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish in Weymouth. Jean lived with a warm heart, always extending love, generosity, and compassion to everyone she met.
She also had a special love for her dog, Jason, who brought her great comfort and companionship.
Jean will be deeply missed by James, her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and the joy of sharing life’s journey with others.
She was the beloved wife of James E. Jamieson Jr. of Weymouth. She was the dear sister of Claire Howard of Middleboro, and Carl Smith and his wife Elaine of Marshfield. Jean is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles St. (corner of Charles & Middles Streets), Weymouth.
Services will conclude with interment in Hingham Center Cemetery, Hingham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Jean's name to the charitable organization of one's choice.
