The family of Jane H. Benduzek (Gerace) of Weymouth is saddened to announce her peaceful passing on May 15, 2025, at the age of 88 years.
She will be loving remembered by her son Russell S. Benduzek and wife Kathleen T. Benduzek ofRockland; grandchildren Amanda K. Costain and husband Brian J. Costain of Beverly, Aindrea K. Benduzek of Quincy and Shawn M. Benduzek of Rockland; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Stanley M. Benduzek; brother, Harry .L Gerace Sr.; and her parents: Lillian and Joseph Gerace.
Jane was born and raised proudly in Medford, Massachusetts. She spent her career caring for others by way of community centers in Boston and later in her career, proudly serving as a school bus driver for many lucky students. She adored her students, their families and took great pride in their travels be it to school, field trips or sporting events while living in New Hampshire later in life. She finally settled in Weymouth in 2011 and spent the remainder of her life surrounded by dear friends and family.
Jane met the love of her life, Stanley Benduzek, in Boston where they lived and raised their son, Russell. She was as supportive and loving as a mother could be and can only seconded by her pride and joy of being a Nana. She loved movies (especially John Wayne), the Boston Celtics, animals, nature, and the peace of a perfect day. Her love for dogs can be seen in almost every family photo where she has one of her beloved dogs with her. Jane was steadfast in her faith throughout her life and was as devoted a mother, a Nana, an Auntie and as a friend could be to all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 31st from 9 am-10 am at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home: 3 Charles St. Weymouth, MA 02189.
A Funeral Mass will be held following the celebration of life at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 1203 Commercial St, Weymouth, MA 02189.
Memorial Donations may be made in Jane's name to the Weymouth Whipple Senior Center at 182 Green St, North Weymouth, MA 02191.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff and nurses at South Shore Hospital, Emerson 3, for their care and compassion for Jane.
