Frederick J. Spring, III of Hingham, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. Fred will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Beloved son of Frederick J. Spring, Jr. and Annette Spring of Hingham. Devoted father of Dylan and Aidan Spring of Bridgewater. Cherished brother of Marianne Tangney of Weymouth, Patrick Spring and his wife Rosanne of Milton, and the late Christine DeMelis and her surviving husband Bob of Marston Mills. Loving uncle of Stephen DeMelis and his wife Nicole, Cori Lynch and her husband Andrew, Devin DeMelis, Giana Spring, and his godchildren Matthew DeMelis and Alia Spring.
Fred made the most of life and was always laughing, and he will be remembered for his beautiful blue eyes and warm smile. He adored his family, especially his two sons who made him very proud. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Patriots and was a season ticket holder for many years. He loved spending time in Naples, Florida and lounging in the pool with his family. Fred worked for many years at John Hancock as a compliance officer. He touched many people during his life and his memory will live on in our hearts.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 4-7 p.m. at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home in South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Route 18 opposite of South Shore Hospital). A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Church in Hingham and burial at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Hingham.
