Dunajski, Leon J. of Braintree, passed away on March 11, 2026. He was 90 years old.
Born in Peabody, he was the oldest son to the late John and Anna (Serocki) Dunajski.
Leon grew up on the family dairy farm, Dunajski Dairy, in Peabody, where he learned the value of hard work and dedication. Those early experiences helped shape the steady and thoughtful man he became.
Leon worked as a house painter and took pride in his work. Known for his reliability and strong work ethic, he approached his trade with care and attention to detail.
Leon also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially golfing and riding his motorcycle. Many of those rides included his children, creating memories they will always cherish.
Leon stayed active through weightlifting and enjoyed family vacations, beach days, and cookouts. Though quiet by nature, he had a great sense of humor and enjoyed the simple moments spent with family and friends.
Leon will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kindness, and the many memories he shared with those who knew and loved him.
Husband to the late Janet (Cogswell) Dunajski. Cherished father to Lisa A. Dunajski, Marcia Bennett and her husband James, Eric Dunajski and his partner Theresa, Lynne Hazleton and her husband Craig, the late John Dunajski, the late Paul Dunajski. Grandfather to Tyler Lee Hazleton. Brother to Joan Sopzcak, Karl Dunajski, and the late John Dunajski and his surviving wife Dixie. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the graveside service on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 2 PM in St. Anthony Cemetery, 167 E. Falmouth Hwy, Falmouth, MA, . In lieu of flowers, donations in Leon’s name may be made to American Lung Assoc. in MA, 1661 Worcester Rd., Suite 301, Framingham, MA 01701.
