Karen Dunajski (nee Kaske) passed away after a brief illness on February 10, 2025, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at the age of 86. She was born on February 6, 1939, in Waukesha to parents Hawley and Doris (nee Phelps) Kaske.
Growing up in Waukesha Karen and the Kaske family name were known around town in connection to “Kaske’s Grocery,” on the corner of Grand Avenue and Harrison Street, now Casa Noble. The store was started by her father, Hawley, and then passed down to her brother Paul. Karen attended Waukesha High School, following graduation went on to attend Milwaukee-Downer College, and graduate from University of Wisconsin-Platteville where she earned her Bachelor’s degree as an English Teacher. Karen was a lifelong member at First Congregational Church in Waukesha, and a member of their Priscilla Circle church ladies’ group.
She is survived by her loving daughter Katherine (Brian Augur) Reiter; cherished grandson Samuel (Brianna) Kehoss; and beloved grandchildren Mason, Luca, Asher, and Scarlett. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Paul.

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 14, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery, 605 South Prairie Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Please meet at the cemetery’s office circle drive.
