Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral HomeJanice E. Nelson of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 86. Born on July 28, 1939, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Henry and Iola (née Swenson) Larson. Janice was raised in Brantwood, Wisconsin, where she graduated from Prentice High School.
In 1962, she married Ralph A. Nelson, who preceded her in death on December 6, 2022. Janice dedicated many years to working at JCPenney and later served as a medical records clerk. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Brookfield, the Waukesha Elks Lodge #400, and the Waukesha Service Club. Throughout her life, she enjoyed golfing and bowling, and in later years, she took pleasure in playing cards and dice at New Perspectives where she enjoyed meeting and making new friends.
Janice will be sadly missed by her children Lynn (Jim) Gomez of Waukesha, Timothy (Kathy) Nelson of Mukwonago, and Jill (Paul Snyder) Nelson of Waukesha; her grandchildren Wade (Jaclyn) Nelson and Samuel (Jack Feria) Nelson; and great-grandchildren Holden and Colette Nelson. She is also survived by her brother Eugene (Carol) Larson, sister Susan (Roger) Tlusty, along with nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and lots of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, sisters Marjorie Petaja and Virginia Ernst, and brother John Larson.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to Brighton Hospice and AngelsGrace Hospice for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 noon memorial service at St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 20275 Davidson Road, Brookfield, Wisconsin 53045. Interment will follow in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janice’s name may be made to Brighton Hospice or AngelsGrace Hospice.
