Donna Bennett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jacobs Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Niagara Chapel on Mar. 20, 2026.
Donna Lynn Bennett, 61, of Niagara, Wisconsin, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. She was born on March 11, 1965, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Guy and Linda (Meyers) Himebauch. Donna grew up in Waukesha and graduated from Waukesha North High School in 1983.

Donna married John Bennett on July 15, 1994. Shortly after starting her family and working at Kwik Trip in Onalaska, Donna returned to school and earned an associate degree as a microcomputer specialist. She then joined Codabow International, where she became a skilled violin, viola, and cello bow hairer. Later, she started her own bow hairing business before moving to the Niagara area.

In Niagara, Donna worked at Mary Hill Manor before running Bennett's Roadhaus Saloon. Never one to sit idle, she also took on a mail carrier route working for the United States Postal Service until her diagnosis.

Donna loved a good gathering of family and friends and cherished many years of camping and traveling. Her warmth, humor, and dedication to those she loved touched all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Linda Himebauch; her brother, Gary Himebauch; her brother-in-law, Walter Von der Ehe, and her close friend, Mary Sharon.

Donna is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, John Bennett; her children, Joshua (Robin) Thew and their sons, Shawn and Brett, Andrew Bennett and his daughters, Madison and Olive, Tim Thew, and Danielle (Brad) Carlson; her brothers, Jim (Kathy) Himebauch and Guy (Arlene) Himebauch; her sisters, Jacalyn (Michael Babic) Bandor and Laura Von der Ehe; and many special friends and relatives who will mourn her passing.

Her family, friends, and community will remember Donna for her generosity, resilience, and the joy she brought to every gathering.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
