Aimee N. Schmidt, Age 47, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. She was born in Waukesha to Jerald and Bonnie (Nee: Rose) Schlais on November 30, 1978. Aimee earned her MBA and in a former position helped students with their financial aid at Herzing University. On August 10, 2002 she married Rodney Schmidt, together they spent 23 years of love, companionship and adventure. Aimee had a love for travel, especially to Walt Disney World, a place that held a special meaning in her heart — serving as the destination for her and Rodney’s honeymoon. She found joy in the simple moments, particularly during family game nights, whether a spirited game of trivia or sharing laughs over a game of cards. Aimee and her family traveled often and attended many plays, and musicals together. Aimee was creative and had a passion for crafting, especially scrapbooking. She lovingly created beautiful scrapbooks, often gifting them to family and friends as treasured keepsakes. Most recently she had started playing piano.
Aimee will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 23 years, Rodney Schmidt, her dear mother Bonnie Schlais, her sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Don Cofta and sweet nieces, Tallis (Joseph) Rowan, Kamber Cofta and Siree Cofta. She is further survived by her mother-in-law, Audrey Schmidt, sisters-in-law Lily Schmidt and Roxane Schmidt and brothers-in-law David Schmidt and Scott (Robin) Schmidt, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Jerald Schlais and father-in-law David Schmidt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Froedtert and the Medical College Lymphedema Clinic.
