Robert John Dunajski, 89, of Westland, Michigan, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital after battling a chronic debilitating kidney disease.

Born on January 2, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late John and Genevieve (Konopka) Dunajski, and the brother of the late Janice Dunajski.

Robert was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as an assistant to the company’s troop commander. He worked in law enforcement in the City of Detroit, Michigan, then he worked for the Associated Springs Company as a production scheduler, from which he retired after 21 years of loyal and dedicated service.  Robert was a devout Catholic who faithfully attended Saint Mary, Cause of Our Joy Church as his health permitted. He truly enjoyed traveling with his family to Frankenmuth, Michigan, and Longboat Key, Florida, and he loved playing a good card game of Euchre with family, especially on the holidays.

Robert was married to the love of his life, Patricia Ann (La Douceur) Dunajski, and shared 63 wonderful years before her passing in August, 2019.

Surviving are his five loving daughters, Susan Moore, Karen (James) Dotson, Elaine (Timothy) Duncan, Sharon Baron, and Carol (Andrew) Schweikhart, grandchildren Sarah Ipince and Joshua Dotson, Luke and Joel Duncan, Nicole Baron and Lauryn Garner, and Katie, Nicholas and Nathan Schweikhart, and great-grandchildren Nico Ipince, Anne-Marie and Penelope Dotson, Hugo and Ameera Duncan, and Mackenzie and J.R. Duncan.

Friends and family will be received at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 22, and from 9:30 -10:00 am on Friday, December 23, until the 10:00 A.M. Mass at St. Mary Cause, of Our Joy Church, 8200 North Wayne Road, Westland, Michigan.
