I met Bill while swimming with my 3 year old son at Mad Maggie’s in Norwood in 1990. For several years, Bill and I engaged in numerous conversations. I was always impressed by his calmness and strength of character. Bill loved to watch my son “learn to swim”. In 1995, my wife and I purchased a Scituate Light painting for our 20th Anniversary. We now live in Humarock, and we have Bill’s painting hung above our fireplace. It has been the center of conversation for the past 25 years. Bill has always been in our conversations. It saddened me to hear of his passing which I learned of today, November 3, 2020. Bill was a good man with many good qualities.

Besides painting which came later, Bill was also a great art director to which I owe a debt of gratitude for inspiring me early on in my career. I was so saddened to hear of your passing. We enjoyed many good times in the era of John Meade Advertising and warm friendly conversations later. I wish I found the time to be in Bill's painting group. But Bill, rest assured you have inspired me to paint again. You will be missed buddy... thinking of you always.

Rest in peace my good friend.

I interviewed Bill for an article on Plein air painting for the Newbury St. And Back Bay. Guide and became friends for at least twenty years after that. Everyone loved Bill. This is a tremendous loss for Boston.

Bill was truly an inspirational teacher. He had a special way to reveal what you were capable of...all with kindness and humor. The world is a bit darker today... I will miss him immensely.

Rest in Peace, Mr. St. George. I had many wonderful days at your house when I was younger and will forever be grateful to you (and your family) for not only having me there, but for making it so much fun. I can recall so well your kind nature - which was never on greater display than the day the garage rafters collapsed! I did not know what to do - so I laughed. Thankfully, you forgave me and - as my dad has told me several times - it even became a moment (looking back) that you laughed at as well. You will be missed, and you will be remembered. God bless.

The lit candle barely conveys what emanated through the canvases. Much love and solace for such a loss to the St. George family. I will miss the St. George family crest on the car by the gallery. May the angels hold paintbrushes in their wings with laughter and joy. In peace

I've known Bill since we were 9 years old. Over the years we never lost contact. I was proud that Bill was my daughter's godfather. My wife and I are proud to have his swan boat painting in our living room. I will miss his sense of humor and most of all his friendship.
