I was one of Mrs. Ruggiero's students from the time she taught at Lee Middle. Just a little over 14 years ago at the time of my writing. Though I am rather late to hear of her passing, I am nonetheless saddened. Mrs. Ruggiero was one of the few teachers I remember well due to thoughtful instruction and her ability to challenge me as a student. Rest in peace.

I just learned of Mrs. Ruggiero's passing. I was one of her students at W.D Sugg Middle in 1984/85 and she went down as my all-time favorite teacher. I'm glad I took the opportunity to return and express my gratitude to her. I got the chance to visit her one other time when my child started at Lee Middle and I discovered she was teaching there. I did not know, but was not surprised, she won Teacher of the Year. I know what an impression she left on me and I could only imagine the hundreds, if not thousands, of other students she encouraged. May I express my sincere condolences to her husband, children (their significant others), grandchildren and other relatives. Please keep her memory alive through pictures and stories...don't let her be lost forever. I have my photos and memories...I will do my part.

As a former student, her love for teaching and empowering students to be the best they can be was so enlightening. She gave me a new perspective on the love of learning. I am forever grateful for the passion that she instilled in me. She always had the biggest smile, generous heart, and care for her students. She will never be forgotten by me as well as the other students she impacted most.

I met Trish while subbing for her at Lee Middle School. Her smile, welcoming manner, kind heart and love of her family, friends, and students impressed me. In such a short time I really grew to care about her. I am sad. Heaven has a new angel!
