Agnes Albert Obituary

Sister Agnes Albert (Ellen Scheckenbach)

Sister Agnes Albert (Ellen Scheckenbach) passed away peacefully on Dec. 24, 2010 at St. JosephÕs Villa in Flowertown, Pa., at the age of 91 years.

After graduating from Bridgeton High School with the Class of 1938, Sister Agnes Albert immediately entered the order of the Sisters of St. Joseph, where she had enjoyed a long teaching career of over 40 years throughout the Philadelphia and Camden Diocese. She had recently celebrated over 70 years as a Sister of St. Joseph.

Sister Agnes Albert enjoyed her many visits with her family, whom affectionately knew her as "Auntie Ellen." She also enjoyed music and painting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the Albert and Agnes Scheckenbach; and her brother and his wife, Albert Jr. and Betty. She is survived by two sisters, Winnie Shannon and her husband, Paul and Marie Taylor; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. JosephÕs Villa in Flowertown, Pa. on Dec. 30, 2010. Contributions in Sister Agnes AlbertÕs memory can be made to St. JosephÕs Villa, 110 Wissahickon Ave., Flowertown, PA 19031.
