Richard Salomon Obituary
Richard Edward Salomon, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 after a brief illness. Richard was born in Bogota, NJ on September 9, 1917. Dick was in good health when he celebrated his 95th birthday with family and friends last year. Like many others, he served his country during World War II and then came home to Buffalo, NY to celebrate the peace and provide for his growing family. He was preceded in death by, his loving wife of 65 years, Evelyn; his parents, Maurice and Vivian Salomon, and his brother, Edward. Richard is survived by his three sons, Bob and wife Kathy, Bill and wife Judy, John and wife Renee as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his companion Annelle Ledford who shared the last years of his life with him. Funeral arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The San Antonio Public Library Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved. There are never any right words to express how deeply sad I am for the pain your family is enduring at this difficult time.
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for his valiant service in defense of our rights and freedom.
His commitment to family, friends, our community, and to serving our great nation leaves a wonderful legacy. May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. He will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.
