Dear Nancy, Ricky, Amy, & Ann,
I can't begin to express my condolences for your loss. Over the years, I got to be with Dick several times and I never left without a smile. Mariann loved working with him so much. She always spoke so highly of him both as a colleague and a friend.

I wish I could be with you this weekend, but I couldn't make it work. Alternatively, I'm having a mass said in Dick's honor on August 6th at Sacred Heart Church in Manchester, NH.

I shall miss his '' laisse le bon temps rouler''. I love you Nancy and I shall be with you in thought Saturday, trough this ordeal witch represent the funeral of a husband.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Bell. He was my math teacher. Enjoyed hearing his remarkable stories about his time in the service or his life in the South. His accent and sense of humor made his stories so interesting. I was surprised to meet up with him a few years ago, back in Milton. He was exactly as I remembered him in high school, as soon as I heard his voice, I knew exactly who it was. He was definitely an inspirational adult in my life.

So sorry to hear of Richard's passing. He was a good friend and team mate. I will never forget the day we won the Louisiana High School State baseball championship. He was my catcher. He was always so up beat. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. May God bless and hold the family close until you Meet again in heaven .

Dear Amy and family,

I was very saddened to hear about your father's passing.

Your dad was always part of your story when you and your friends here at John Hancock would meet for lunch. Your profound love and devotion for him was right there, through the saga of his ailments and ordeals to slow down the relentlessness of the disease.

Please take solace in the fact that you were there with him, embracing him with your love, till his last and peaceful breath.

Thinking of you at this time of loss. May his memory be forever a blessing in your life.

Rick and family. My condolences to you and your family. I will always remember your dad as a big supporter of Rebel sports games in the 80's. Always yelling in that southern accent...Go Rebels! Rob Barrett SBHS 89

Richard will be sorely missed. His smile, laughter, stories and the ability to engage anybody in a fun and lively conversation was his unique gift to all of his. His generous nature also was extremely appreciated. My kids are still using his teacher/school supplies that he gave to them after his retirement. His teachings and spirit will go on here in our household forever. Sending all our love to the Bell family.

The Final Salute

Brothers in Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Richard Franklin (Dick) Bell our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Dick. To Dick it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Dick, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 961 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 177 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Dick's family and loved ones.

My Condolences to Nancy and the Bell family.
Mr. Bell was my math teacher as well as a teacher of life. He was truly passionate about teaching kids. He had so many stories to tell and along with that southern accent and his animation, I would have to say he was one of my favorites. He was also a pretty darn good baseball coach too. You were a positive influence on many. Loved Mr. Bell
