When I Was Four Years Old I Seen Iris On The Lonestar Channel
During "The Calgary Stampede Hour"

I was just doing some research with the Calgary Stampede on again. I am so sorry for the loss. I thought she was still going strong, however I was quite young when I met her. She was very kind and soft spoken to me when i was younger. My dad and best friend, Garry Mayan, passed in 2021. He would always share stories about Grandma Iris, as we liked to call her. I know this happened in 2008 and its now, 2022, but memories are always important.

I didn't know Iris very well, but knew her through working at Registries both in Okotoks and High River. I admired her family values and her sense of humor. I know that all of you will miss her dearly.

Iris was the most lovable and fun person I have ever met. We only saw each other a couple of times in the past 40 years, but spoke on the phone now and then and I thought about her and the rest of the family so very often. She will be greatly missed as all special people should be. My thoughts are with you all, Susie

I so admired Iris Glass in her devotion to her family and the chuckwagon families. Having attended the races most of my life, seeing her helping harness, saddle, and riding outriding horses up from the barns.
I can only wish her family and friends my deepest condolences. We all loved her spirit and class.

Iris was always one of my heros from her days of racing with Babe to the last time I talked to her at Calgary in 2007. In the tough times in my life I've always tried to remember her unbelievable courage and strength in the bad times. She will be greatly missed.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers,

My heart goes out to your family in this time of sadness. I want to thank you all for sharing this great lady. She was the best!!!!
I will always treasure my memories of traveling together. She was always full of knowledge, stories and most of all fun. Whether it was working in the barns, hooking horses, playing cards or sitting around a camp fire.
You could always see the happiness in Gram's face when she could share time with family & friends. She was very proud of all of her family and their accomplishments. She enjoyed the new generations that came and was glad to see her family grow. She loved that fact that so many of you carried on the family traditions.
She touched so many lives in her time on this earth may she rest in peace and be united with those that have gone before her.
As we celebrate the life of this magnificent women and remember the light in Gram's eyes.May that light & life live in each and everyone of you everyday of your life.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who new and loved her.

I watched the Rangeland Derby every night and was upset to hear that your Mom wasn't doing very well. I spoke with Maggie and she told me the sad news. I am so sorry to hear that Iris will now be watching you all through heaven's windows rather than from her spot in the bleachers. But she will be certainly watching, there's no doubt of that! She was a totally amazing lady and the toughest old gal I've ever met in my life! Her guidance and love helped to make you the kind of people you are. You'll miss her dearly but will have the best memories. And remember that she will always be at your side. I wish I could be there to celebrate her life with you but I'll be there in spirit.
My deepest sympathy,

I got to know Iris in Morris, Manitoba when we cajoled her two beautiful granddaughters, Cory and Kim into"carrying colors" at the rodeo.I loved her to bits. She always made me laugh, scared me to death a couple of times on commercials, came to Cochrane to fuss over my new baby and was generally full of beans! It was very special that you could dedicate your win at CS to her, Jason.I am thinking of you all and send my deepest condolences for your loss.

Aunt Iris was the wife of my Uncle, Ronnie Glass. She was always respected and admired and a strong lady. Although we have been separated by distance for many years, I will miss hearing about her.

I first met Iris when I worked as a doorman at the Ranchmans in Calgary. She was one of my favorite customers. We'd sit and talk for hours about all sorts of things. I will miss her!
