Jessica Lynn Diggens, of Black Diamond, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the age of 31 years. Jess, known as baby Jessica the first living Canadian infant heart transplant, always had so much love to share with her family, friends, and animals. She never met a problem she didn't want to solve or an animal she didn't want to adopt. We are thankful she now knows no more pain and suffering. Jess is survived by her parents, Greig and Brenda Diggens; brother, Lenny Diggens; her Granny, Grandpa, and Grandma Debbie; her Fiancé Andre Lalibertte; stepdaughter Lilly, and numerous, aunts, uncles, and extended family. Her family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Somerville of Calgary, AB and Dr. Leonard Bailey of LLUMC, California and all the support teams that cared for Jess. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Jessica Diggens, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

Dear Brenda, Greig and Lenny, Although I haven't seen Jessica for many years, I will never forget her joy for living, determined attitude, and loving heart. I was privileged to be a part of her care team. My sincerest sympathies.
