NORTH FALMOUTH — Ruth A. (Jones) Mahoney, 84, of North Falmouth, formerly of Taunton, died at Morton Hospital, on Feb. 6, 2008.

She was the wife of the late Richard D. Mahoney.

Ruth was born and raised in Taunton. She graduated from Taunton High School in 1941 and from Bryant College.

While residing in Taunton, she worked for many years as a secretary, first for Taunton schools and for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works. In 1982, she retired and moved to the Old Silver Beach area of Falmouth.

She was a proud member of both St. Elizabeth Seton's guild and the Old Silver Beach Estates.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Mahoney and his wife, Louise, of Dighton, Mary Wilusz and her husband, Stephen, of Dighton, and Michael Mahoney and his wife, Maureen, of Falmouth; and six grandchildren. She is the daughter of the late John and May (Walsh) Jones and sister of the late John Leo Jones.

Visiting hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 W. Falmouth Highway (Route 28A), West Falmouth. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 481 Quaker Road, North Falmouth, MA 02556, followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
