SANDWICH — Gregory Allan MacDonald, 73, resident of Sandwich for nearly 40 years, died peacefully in his home in Alexandria, Va., on Aug. 13, 2010. Greg served honorably with the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam and retired after serving 20 years in U.S. Coast Guard Aviation. Greg graduated from Roger Williams University, R.I., in 1984. He loved Sandwich and watching all high school sports. Beloved husband of Pam MacDonald, he is also survived by their son James and daughter-in-law Patty MacDonald; their daughter Kate and son-in-law Nelson Morse; and two grandchildren, Nora Katherine MacDonald and Patrick James Morse. Donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans in his honor at www.dav.org or the DAV P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 Attn: Gift Processing.

Services and burial at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., in October 2010.

Dear Pam, Jamie and Katey,
We were very sorry to hear of Greg's passing. His love of and service to his country will never be forgotten. We will always remember his perpetual smile and coffee cup. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Pam, Kate and Jamie,
Steve and I were so sorry to hear about Greg. We spent so many wonderful hours with him on fields, at courts and rinks or on the team bus. There is a big empty spot there now but as time goes we will be able to fill that spot with memories. Steve & Linda Bass
