HYANNIS — Martha J. "Bobbie" (Talbot) Campbell, 79, a longtime resident of South Yarmouth and most recently of Hyannis, died on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at the McCarthy Care Center in East Sandwich, after a long illness.

Born, raised and educated in Springfield, Mrs. Campbell was the second of five daughters of the late Frank E. and Marian (Bridge) Talbot. She was a graduate of Classical High School in Springfield and attended Bridgewater Teachers College before taking a full-time nursery school teaching job.

Mrs. Campbell married her former husband, the late Frank P. Campbell, in 1953 at Trinity Church in Springfield. She made a loving home for her family while living in Evanston, Ill., Green Bay, Wis., Lancaster, Pa., Bel Air, Md., and Portage, Mich., before moving to South Yarmouth in 1971.

A member of the American Guild of Organists, Mrs. Campbell served as organist and choir director for many Cape Cod churches. Mrs. Campbell then became a tour guide for several Cape Cod based companies.

She was a member of the South Yarmouth United Methodist Church and the Bass River Yacht Club.

Mrs. Campbell was a very loving and caring woman who will be dearly missed by her family and friends including, her two sons, Frank P. Campbell Jr. of Norwood, Scott T. Campbell and his partner, Michael Henderson, of Provincetown; two daughters, Lee Anne Campbell of East Falmouth, and Martha L. Campbell and her partner, Catherine Richard, of Sandwich; her two sisters, Marjorie Morley and Louise Curtice, both of Harwich; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Wallace Bull of Estero, Fla. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marian Tesoro and Ann Sisk.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, in the Unitarian Church of Barnstable, 3330 Main St. (Route 6A), Barnstable.

The family plans a springtime interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield.

To Frank and the Campbell Family-
I am sorry to hear about your Mom-
News like this always brings back fond memories - and we had a lot at your house on Old Main St. (My baby shower comes to mind.)
And how she hated the way you all ran down the back stairs.
My heart and prayers are with you all
I am sorry I will be away for her memorial service. God Bless.
