Jean Goforth
October 12, 1929 - January 16, 2021
Cornelius, North Carolina - Dorothy Jean Campbell Goforth, 91, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021. She was born in Mecklenburg County and grew up in Paw Creek. She was the daughter of the late James Monroe Campbell and Emma Ross Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Goforth; her twin sister, Dean Vinesett; her sister, Marlene Alexander; and her brothers, Norman Campbell, Don Campbell and James "Pee-Wee" Campbell. Mrs. Goforth loved tending to her flowers and yard and caring for her purple martins that would come to her birdhouses each year. She loved her Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs baseball teams. Mrs. Goforth is survived by her children, Randy Lee Goforth and wife, Malene, Danny E. Goforth and wife, Joy, and Tammy Loukos and husband, Mike; her brother, Robert Campbell and wife, Sallye; her grandchildren, Emily Rust and husband, Tate, Caroline Carlson and husband, Shaun, Brett Goforth and wife, Jody, Jenny Hickerson and husband, Vinny, Michael Loukos and wife, Julie, and Jonathan Loukos and wife, Britt; her step-grandson, Marc Humphries and wife, Lisa; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her loving niece, Carolyn Veleke, for all of her support and love and to the staff of Olde Knox Commons. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Goforth will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cemetery-West, Charlotte, NC.
