Beloved son of the late Michael and Grace (nee Shahanian). Loving nephew, cousin and friend of many. Robert was born and raised in Detroit, MI and migrated to the Chicago area. He was very proud of his Armenian family and heritage. He received his Doctrine from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He had a private practice for over 40 years in Orland Park and was a sports physician for Alan B. Shepard High School, where he never missed a game in 41 years. He was also Team Doctor/Assistant Coach for Leo High School, DeLasalle High School and Bremen High School from 1986-2001. Visitation Saturday 1-6 p.m. with a Service at 5:30 p.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL. Interment private. www.sheehyfh.com 708-857-7878

Several years ago my husband was not well and we found Doc on the internet. Best find ever!! He knew everything and everyone. He was funny and we felt like family. I was sick when I found out he had a stroke. Nothing or no one can replace him.... he was a wonderful funny compassionate man. I remember the stories about the fig Newton at ALDI. He was quite the shopper! RIP from me and my husband, John Prim.

I loved my Brother Robert more than life itself. Unfortunately I wasn't able to communicate that to Robert.
First thing in the morning. Last thing at night, two arms around me, holding me tight. That's how my Brother felt about me.

My heart is saddened hearing this news! Dr Manoogian was my childhood doctor. Last time i seen him 31 yrs ago. The world had a awesome doctor and man. Always missed him no other doctor really has matched him. I mean he basically watched me?my sister and brother grow up!
Didn't know he passed till today! Even more sad he passed on my birthday!

I was a patient of Dr. Manoogian for over 25 years and I did not learn about his passing back in June until today (no letters were sent out?) I am heartbroken by the news. Dr. Manoogian was more than a doctor to me, he was a special person and a friend. He had such a wonderful sense of humor and wit and he always showed genuine kindness and affection for his patients. He was a rare jewel in his field and an irreplaceable soul. Rest in peace Doc, you will be sadly missed. My prayers are with your family.

I am so saddened to learn of the passing of Doc. He was a wonderful man in every way. He was compassionate, funny, unique, strong, and always caring. His neck and back alignments were the best in this field and will not be matched. He was truly world class. The world is a much duller place without Doc. The heavens are smiling, though. I will miss you Doc and think of you always!

I am overcome with sorrow as I learn of the passing of Doc. He was a wonderful, funny, compassionate person who took a great interest in his patients. He was an expert at back and neck realignment; like no other! Doc was a cut above all of the physicians I have ever seen. His overall knowledge combined with his concern for his patients, made him world class. He loved people, sports, and laughter. He will truly be missed. The world is a duller place without Doc. The heavens are smiling though!

Bob went through his anesthesiology rotation at CCOM when I was an anesthesia professor at CCOM Hospitals. I remember him and his group of four medical students so well, even after all these years. I also worked with Bob during his surgery residency at Olympia Fields Hospital but lost touch after he graduated and I relocated from Illinois in 1989. What a great guy, friendly, kind, and much more. I wish that I would have kept in touch. RIP Bob.

Dr manoogian was not only my doctor, but probably my best friend for over 30 years. He has literally saved my life on a few occasions,and sorrow and sadness does not even begin to describe my feelings right now. I'll miss him more than words can describe. I'll pray for his family, as we have all lost a great,great man
