William McClain

William Thomas McClain, age 88, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014, peacefully at his home in Glenview, IL. Bill, or Mac, as he was more commonly referred to, was born in Louisville, KY and raised in Bardstown, KY, a place that remained dear to him throughout his life. He had a productive and long career as a patent attorney, initially with Standard Oil of Indiana (Amoco then British Petroleum) in Chicago, IL, then after retirement, of counsel with the law firm Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner in Washington, DC.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wanda B. McClain; his children Nina McClain (Jean Luis) of Annapolis, MD, Cate McClain (Jack) of Albuquerque, NM, Ann McClain of Paris, France, Bill McClain (Connie) of Wilmette, IL and Gary McClain of Abingdon, VA; nine grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
