Christy L. (nee Scarpinski). Loving mother of Vance S. and Brooke M. Dawson. Devoted daughter of Donald Scarpinski, Jr. and Janice Schneider. Beloved sister of Donny (Barbie) Scarpinski and Joe (Sara) Scarpinski. Granddaughter of Donald, Sr. and Betty Scarpinski and Jean and the late Frank Poto. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Passed away suddenly Monday, January 16, 2017. Age 38. Visitation Friday, January 20th from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd., Evendale. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fernside Center for Grieving Children, 4360 Cooper Road, Cincinnati 45242.

I graduated from Mt. Notre Dame high school with Christy. I remember admiring her free spirit, fun, and warm nature. She made everyone smile, which turned into laughter. I have very fond memories from my high school years, so it hurts my heart to lose a Mt. Notre Dame "sister". My thoughts and prayers are with her friends and family, especially her children. God bless them.

Christy was an amazing person- so full of life and kindness. I haven't seen her in many years but have fond memories of our shenanigans in our early 20's. I regret that we will not be able to reconnect but so grateful I was able to know her. She will be missed. She had a such good heart.

I went to high school with Christy at Mount Notre Dame. Her and I not only played soccer throughout our high school years, but hung out, especially our sophomore year. I remember a party at her mom's house that her and her brother, Donny, had in the basement. Lots of laughing and great times. I remember walking to her grandparents house before soccer practice a couple of times. Also, hanging out at her dad's apartment; swimming and causing good ole fashion trouble. :) Christy had a great spirit! Carefree! I'm praying, not only for her whole family, but that her children are resilient and can feel the presence of their mother throughout the rest of their lives.

It seems like just yesterday Christy was playing soccer and having fun, time passes too fast. Even though I have not seen Christy in a good while, she has always held a special place in my heat.
