Harvey Bream Obituary

Harvey Cleveland Bream, Jr.

Mason, OH - 95, faithfully completed his lifetime of service to the Lord and went home on December 1st 2018. In addition, he is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Christ's Church at Mason, 5165 Western Row Road, Mason, Ohio from 5PM to 8PM on Tuesday, December 4th and again on Wednesday, December 5th at 12 noon until the Service at 1:00 PM. I still remember a Harvey Bream message way back in a 1979 CCU chapel service - 'The High Cost of Low Living.' It was a classic message from a first-class man of God.

I joined the Bright Christian Church a little over 6 years ago and right away started Harvey Sunday school class. I've learned so much from Harvey. He was such a good example of that it means to be Godly. He had a contagious smile and a heart for our savior Jesus Christ. He and Maryann touched my life in such a special way. I respected them both. I will forever be grateful that God lead me to the best Sunday school teacher ever. Harvey's sermons were solid...the kind of sermons I remember from revivals in the good old days. He will be missed...until we meet again.

Harvey Bream taught at our church in Bright, Indiana- the Bright Christian Church. What an amazing man with his knowledge of the word of God. He could cover more in 20 minutes than any preacher of the word that I've ever heard. Truly, he had a gift and I'm so happy to have listened to him preach before he left this earth. Praising God for the mark Mr. Bream left. I'm so sorry for his family that will now miss him, along with their dear Mother, MaryAnn. God Bless you all and may you feel the peace of God during this sad time.

Harvey had a huge impact on my life. Growing up in Forest Dale Church of Christ, he and MaryAnn were consistently there for me in more ways than I can count. I will forever be grateful for their encouragement, hugs, kisses, and love.

Mr. Bream, I will miss you every day. Please give Mrs. Bream and Debbie a hug for me. ❤

I remember traveling on weekends with President Bream. I was really nervous, but soon realized how much fun he was, and great at putting people at ease. Enjoyed several of those weekends with him.
Saw him about 30 years later, and he commented on those trips, as well as the different churches we had served. He truly cared for each and every student who passed through CBS during his tenure.

Harv & Scott, I was so sorry to learn of your dad's passing. It isn't easy losing a parent regardless of the circumstances. He was a father figure to me, too. And he always had a smile! May God embrace you during this difficult time.

I am so saddened to hear of Harvey's passing, but thrilled for him in receiving his eternal reward.
God be with you all as you say your "good-byes for now".

Harvey was a stalwart soldier for Jesus Christ. My wife, Myrna, and I became very close friends here at Mason Christian Village It is difficult to think of not seeing him (or Mary Ann) any more in this life.
On the other hand, I rejoice with him because of the victory he has now received from the Lord. He spent his life serving the Lord and leading souls to Christ.
Let me say that I see Harvey as a boulder and certainly not a pebble. Let me explain the difference. A pebble is continually being washed by a moving mountain stream. It bumps into other rocks until it is reduced to sand by its constant rolling and tumbling in the mountain stream.
On the other hand a boulder sits still in the mountain stream and the water and pebbles are forced to go around it.
Jesus is looking for boulders todaymen and women who will stand firm on the word of God and not be moved by the opinions of others.

Dear Bream Family, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of both your mom and dad. We had some good years when both my family and yours went to Forest Dale Church of Christ. We went to camp together at Claremont County and competitively played sports with the Bream boys. Your mom and dad were anchors of ForestDale church and were so well respected. My mother would often tell the story, when we crossed the bridge into Kentucky about the Holiday Inn on the river. She would repeat it dozens of times, that she and my dad ate at that wonderful restaurant at the top of the Holiday Inn with Maryanne and Harvey. She had a great memory of that time and the wonderful fellowship she enjoyed with two close friends. Her pride was so evident ! The value of friendship was a beautiful thing to witness in her love for the Breams. Also that friendship played out with years of attending the North American Christian Convention together. They were truly servants of the church and pillars of the church community . Their hard work and dedication will be sorely missed and who will fill the void ? God bless the Bream Family and let their commitment to the church be a continual inspiration to us all.
Sincerely, Danny Jones

We have to take comfort in the scriptures and do as the Apostle Paul said Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. Colossians 3:15
