Mr Hutchins, my soccer coach, The Honeybears, the first girls soccer team in Finneytown, I was 13. We traveled to different areas to play and were the team to beat. We had a reputation! Mr Hutchins taught us skills, plays, tactics and good sportsmanship. Mr Hutchins loved our team. He took us to tournaments in Canada and Maryland where we even played in the snow...we were unstoppable! I went on to play soccer for 24 years. Mr Hutchibs called me Big D because I was tall and had a long kick. I went on to help start a women's soccer team in college and we were good too! As I sit here watching the USA play the Netherlands in The World Cup, I'm now 63, I can hear Mr Hutchins words today, " one touch, use your wings, as a defender keep your body between the ball and the goal". I will never forget him. I loved my coach and his dedication to us girls which we returned. Thank you Mr Hutchins. Soccer has played an integral part of my life. I will always love the sport, be a team player in any competition and teach with grace, patience and perseverance because of the lessons you taught me. Diane Vordenberg Bernal

I worked with Jim, although not so closely, at P&G. I was always so impressed with his kindness as well as his clear competence in his work. I remember talking with him at the copier one day about his dogs - clearly one of his great loves! Condolences to his family in this great loss.

I enjoyed working in the same Department at P&G for Jim for about 10 years, and then was pleased to see when he came to Queen City Dog Training Club with his Boxers. Jim was so pleasant to chat with on occasion. He once asked me how many people from P&G that I still see, and actually not many, as most P&G'ers came to Cincy to work from other parts of the country. Jim agreed and said he missed seeing all his friends from his working days. I only met Ruth through Queen City, and I can't imagine how bad she's missing Jim after 40 years as his wife. My thoughts are with Ruth and the family.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. I was blessed having the chance to get to know him (and his dog). I always respected him and admired him for his ethics, professsionalism and subtle irony that make a conversation or simply staying around him enjoyable. RIP Jim

To the entire Hutchins family; We are deeply sorry to hear of Jim's passing. A few simple words cannot adequately sum up the wonderful relationship our family has had with yours in the "over half a century" that we have known you. You are all sincerely in our thoughts and prayers, especially for Jim's wonderful wife, Ruth, during this difficult transition. Thank you both for the blessing of your presence in our lives. God Speed Jim...
