Linda J. Cummings, 65, of Trucksville, passed away after a sudden illness Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, surrounded by her beloved family.
Linda was born Feb. 17, 1955, to the late Clifford Hawke and Jeanne Hawke of Trucksville. She was a graduate of Dallas High School. She worked for Grange Bank in her early life, but spent the majority of her years devoted to and caring for her family, for which she was second to none. She built a loving home which is treasured by her family.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Lawrence P. Cummings; son, Forrest Cummings, Bethlehem; son, Christopher Cummings, Shavertown; daughter, Kelli J. Cummings, Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, David Hawke, Tunkhannock; three grandchildren; Alex M. Cummings, Reilly P. Cummings and Cassius H. Cummings; her little dog, Lucy, forever by her side; and countless family and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her late brother Timothy L. Hawke, 66.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and steadfast friend. She was a gifted artist who excelled in arts and crafts, photography, and wood carving. In her spare time, she made beautiful wood carvings and other whimsical creations for dear friends and family. She loved campfires with her grandchildren and friends, bluegrass festivals, Sunday crosswords with a good cup of coffee, colorful fall drives with her husband, and decorating her yard beautifully with flowers.
Her presence made everything and everyone around her better. She brought people together, and cared for others out of the kindness of her heart, always. She was adored by many for her gentle, loving nature, and her contagious laugh could fill the room. She demanded nothing and yet deserved everything. She was a treasure to all who knew her. Her pride and joy were her three grandchildren, who adored her, and whom she loved with her whole heart.
To honor Linda's wishes, no services will be held. Instead, the family will be hosting a memorial at a later date, where all who loved her can celebrate her memory together.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to honor Linda to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in her name.

It is with great sadness that I write these words ... yet I am forever grateful for her true friendship and her unwavering support for all the years of traveling about with our band, visiting us in NH and, just being a truly wonderful, nice person. I will always remember her laughter that seemed to make all right..
