Louise Leonhardt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals & Cremation Service on Feb. 1, 2026.
Louise M. Leonhardt, lovingly known as Nana, passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2026 at the age of 84, surrounded by those who loved her most.

Born on June 8th, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Nana devoted her life to her family and home. For the past 56 years, she proudly made her home in Laurence Harbor, NJ, where she built a life centered on love, faith, and family. She was the heart of her household - a true homemaker whose love was felt in every meal she cooked, every tradition she upheld, and every quiet moment she shared with those around her. Her home was always open, welcoming, and filled with warmth.

Nana found her greatest joy in caring for others. She was known for her kindness, strong faith, sense of humor, warm hugs, and being a tea connoisseur . She made everyone feel special, serving as a constant source of comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love to her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

She is survived by her loving children David of Jackson, NJ, Michelle Canfield of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Charles Jr. and his wife Wendy of East Brunswick, NJ, Richard and his wife Valerie of Old Bridge, NJ, by her adoring grandchildren Jeffrey, Danny, Ryan, Nicole, Alex, Alyssa, Matt, Jillian, Jenna, Julia, and Justin, by her caring sister Barbara Chapman of Winston, GA, by her cherished brother in law William Leonhardt and his wife Sandra of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and by many nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her spouse Charles Leonhardt Sr., parents Richard and Evelyn Lloyd, siblings Elizabeth Santucci and Marion Lindsey.

Nana's love, legacy, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.

A chapel service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Maple Hill Cemetery, 68 E. St. Mary's Rd., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18706, where she will be laid to rest.
