Arthur Bonine Obituary

Arthur Art Eugene Bonine Arthur Art Eugene Bonine, 75, passed away on July 25, 2013, at Via Christi in Pittsburg, Ks, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Art was born on April 6, 1938, in Erie, Ks, to Herman L. and Dorothy E. (Janssen) Bonine. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1955 and in 1957 from Labette Community College, majoring in Industrial Arts Vocational: Mechanics. He was always proud to say he was a mechanic by trade. He also served four years in the National Guard Reserves out of Neodesha, Ks. On December 6, 1964, he married Joyce M. McEachern in Galesburg, Ks. They later divorced. On October 4, 1986, he married Donna Kay Knight-Shepard in Parsons, Ks. They divorced in 2007. Art grew up and lived in rural Thayer, Ks, most of his life before moving to Parsons, Ks, in 1986. In 2008 he moved to Pittsburg, Ks. He worked as a mechanic in Chanute, Parsons, Thayer, and Wichita, Ks, for many years. Art is survived by his brother Philip Bonine and wife Mary Ann of Benton, Ks; two sisters: Esther Bonine and husband Tim Baldwin of Topsail Beach, NC, and Patricia Bonine of Topeka, Ks; two sons: Arthur Eugene Gene Bonine II of Grove, Ok, and Travis Bonine and wife Lucinda of Arma, Ks; two grandchildren: Elana Bonine and Tallon Bonine; three nieces: Linda Smith and husband Kenny of Kechi, Ks, Sandy Gohring and husband David of Wichita, Ks, and Brittany Bonine Osborne of Topeka, Ks. His parents preceded him in death. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held September 21, 2013, in Parsons, Ks, at the Parsons Arboretum Visitors Center from 12-6 P.M. for family and friends.
