DONALD HUTCHERSON Obituary

DONALD ALBERT HUTCHERSON (aka ‘Duck’ or ‘Boots’) passed away March 18, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his daughter Donna (David) Sledge, Jr., two beloved and doted on grandchildren, David Sledge, III, and Laura Claire Sledge, two sisters, Mary Ann Odom, Jayne H. Smith, his sister-in-law Sandra (Thomas) Houston. He leaves a host of nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews as well as close friend and neighbor David Walker. Don was preceded by his beloved wife, Joyce Turner Hutcherson, his parents Albert and Letty Hutcherson and four brothers: Bill, Joe, George, and Laddie Hutcherson. Don was a proud Union Carpenter and had a great professional reputation. He was a Mason and member of the Berclair Lodge. He loved fishing and gardening, provided many folks with great tomatoes, watermelons, and cantaloupes. He was a Charter Member of Wells Station Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Don was a faithful, loving husband, father, and brother, helping raise his younger siblings. He was the rock our family leaned on, and we will miss him terribly. The family requests that instead of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society. There will be a visitation at Bartlett Funeral Home on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 5-6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Blandville, KY on Saturday, March 21, 2015. Donald was so admired by all of my branch of the Hutcherson family. He will be sorely missed. I feel he has "his wings" and is in heaven with Joyce and all of his family that has preceded him in leaving this earthly life.
