Willie Lemons Obituary
Memphis, TN
Willie Lee Lemons, 73, devoted husband, peacefully passed away into the arms of the Lord on the morning of Wednesday, August 1, 2018. He was the first born of the late Mary Elizabeth Lemons and Henry Lemons. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Miller, and a brother, Frederick Earl Clemons.
Willie was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School Class of 1962. He served in the United States Army, and later went on to join the Memphis Police Department. Willie was a retired Captain of the Memphis Police Department, where he gave 33 years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Lynn Lemons; three children whom he helped to raise, Charmeia Douglas, Tamarcus (Paige) Carter, and William Oliver II; two brothers, Ellis Clemons and Carlton E. Clemons, Sr.
Visitation will be held 2 p.m.-4 p.m., Sunday, August 12 at N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 12 South Parkway West, Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be 12 Noon, Monday, August 13 at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 2237 South Parkway East, Memphis, TN. Burial will follow in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN.

To the Lemons Family,
I was very sorry to hear of your loss. I had the opportunity to work with Willie for many years and we formed a very strong and lasting friendship. My wife and I visited him several times, both at home and in the hospital. We had a last prayer together on the Sunday before he passed. Rest well, my friend, your job is finished and you passed the ultimate test. Your tour of duty is over...Job well done.
