I'd known God mother Gerri Johnson since I was a child. She was my official God mother, my mother and her knew each other since the 3rd grade they were the best of friends and Aunt Geraldine gave wisdom and blessings and direction and so many children's lives she was the fore front of what we call today a real diva. We used to sit for hours talking about life and the meaning of it. She gave my mother so many words of wisdom which my mother raised me by. She was one of the 1st lady's I looked up to as far as dressing. Getting into fashion at 16 came from the words of wisdom from my my God mother. My mother in her were like mic & Mac they both moved up here from Richmond Virginia after both of them Graduating college VUU . And Cheryl was ever bit like her mother a classy lady. My mother Alma Patterson used to say they broke the mold after Aunt Geraldine! She always had time to speak to me and give me advice she will sorely be miss. Thank you very much for being my God mother. She kept it real !!!such a LADY!# THANK YOU AUNT GERALDINE. my frist fashion muse. And I'm still copying her style.

She was a rara avis. As an aunt Geraldine Bailey Williams Johnson epitomized the bard's refrain, " Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale Her infinite variety." The incomparable spirit will live on as a legacy to family and those in her enchanted orbit. She will be indelibly missed.

I am proud to have known such a great loving and considerate person. She was a member of the Cherry Hill African American Civic almost from the time of its inception in 1978. She also served as Treasurer for many years and contributed greatly to the organization's scholarship fund and general fund. She was a joy to be around and let it be known that she was a Child of our Lord Jesus Christ. We will keep the family in prayers and pray that God grants them many blessings.

To the Aunt of Linda, Lisa, Maria, Gerri, and Family:
Thank you for being a positive role model. As a college student from Newark and Irvington in the late 80's and early 90's, I was fortunate to be introduced to you by your nieces. You became Aunt Geri to everyone. It was good to see Black women who demonstrated the Justification for Higher Education. Your presence showed me that I too....who looked like you.... can be successful with degrees. I paid attention! As a result, I became an educator with a bunch of degrees, also. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For being a Great Role Model.
RIP Aunt Geri

Geraldine was one of my favorite people. Always enjoyed being in her presence. Met
her through my in-laws in the 1950's, in Richmond, VA.
