James Toogood Obituary
AGE: 86 • Pennsauken
James W. "Bill" Toogood, age 86, of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late James William Arthur and Grace Mary Toogood in Collingdale, PA. Bill studied commercial art at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and Dobbins. He was a lifelong painter and was still painting right until his passing. As an avid golfer, he was a long time member of the Pennsauken Country Club and considered it his second home. Bill will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Bill is predeceased by his daughter, Margaret Kopala and siblings, Robert Toogood and Dorothy Neiman.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret "Marge" Toogood; children, James Toogood and his wife Eileen and Elizabeth Batten and her husband David; grandchildren, Timothy Batten and his wife Lisa, Christine Batten, and Jaine Kopala; great grandchildren, Lucas Batten and Conner Batten; son in law, Stanley John Kopala; and siblings, Richard Toogood and Carol Myer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 9:30am-11:30am at Christ Our Light, located at 402 N. Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30am. Bill will be laid to rest following Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, NJ. Bill had that rare combination of grace ,dignity and OMG could he tell a story!He and Marge where always the coolest ones in the room without even trying.So interesting and so many interests between them.I'll miss those stories and that great smile.
