Patrick Ryan Obituary
Patrick Ryan, age 62, of Fairfield, CT, died peacefully at home, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of the late Henry Ryan and Mary (Harrington) Ryan of Simsbury, CT. Pat was a 1974 graduate of St. Bonaventure University and began his career at Price Waterhouse. After becoming a Partner at Touche Ross, Pat joined Marketing Corporation of America in 1985 as the VP of Real Estate. At Marketing Corporation of America, Pat was the President and COO of various companies, including: Yue-Sai Kan Cosmetics in Shenzen, China, the Hotel Jerome in Aspen, CO, and a commercial real estate group. He later became the President of Beachside Capital Partners, Inc. and, in 2005, Pat founded the Ryan Auto Group where he was President and Owner of Cadillac/Saab of Greenwich and Saab of Westport. He recently sold this business and had retired. Although he had a number of accomplishments, his family admired him most for his sincerity, optimism, and kindness to everyone. Pat was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and friend whose endless smile and positive spirit could light up any room. Pat was a very active volunteer at St. Pius X Church, a youth basketball and soccer coach, and enjoyed skiing and traveling with his family. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Margaret (Griffin) Ryan, and his 3 children, Patrick, Kristin, and Meghan Ryan. Pat is also survived by his brother and sisters who meant so much to him, Anne and Tom Degnan of Orleans, MA, Barry and Caryl Ryan of East Granby, Kathleen and Kelly Kearney of Simsbury, Jane Ryan of Simsbury, and Joan and Ed Looney of West Hartford and his many nieces and nephews who he cherished. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM meeting DIRECTLY at St. Pius X Church with interment to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends are welcome to attend calling hours Friday, October 30, 2015 from 4-8 PM in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S Benson Rd., Fairfield. In lieu of flowers donations in Pat's memory may be made to: Swim Across the Sound, St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport, CT 06606. I am deeply sorry to hear of my cousin Patrick's passing. To me he was unique in his warmth and kindness. Just like his Father and my dear Uncle Husk. My Mother and Patrick's Aunt saw his photo this morning and said he looked exactly like her Father and Patrick's Grandfather. I have read that heaven is a place of: "union, communion and family". I hope that Patrick's union with his family in heaven provides some comfort to Margaret, Patrick, Kristin and Meghan. I send my prayers, love and sympathy for their great loss.

So sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I was a fellow Bonnie in the class of '74. He had such a wonderful sense of humor especially when we all ended the night at "The Stinkin' Lincoln Diner." I also remember his love of Motown, specifically, The Spinners. I am sure he and Stax are laughing and joking in heaven.
