Jean Bartholomew Obituary
Jean Alling Bartholomew died on Friday, July 8, 2016, at The Villa at Stamford CT nursing home. She was born on Nov 2, 1919 in Waterbury, spent her childhood in West Hartford and resided for many years in Fairfield. Mrs. Bartholomew was a member of Fairfield Grace Methodist Church and active in the Women's Circle. A retired bookkeeper and a talented artist, she was known for her loving attitude and kindliness toward others. She married Halstead Bartholomew and is survived by two daughters, Susan Abrams of Wilton and Carol Schachat of California; Nancy Pratt, her sister-in-law; 6 nieces; a nephew; 3 grandchildren; and a grandchild. A memorial service will be held at Fairfield Grace Methodist Church at 4:00 p.m., Sept. 4, 2016, reception to follow. Internment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven at 10 a.m., September 3, 2016. Memorial Donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Team McKee at http://www.alzfdn.org/

To Jean's family: I am so sorry to hear the news about the passing of Jean. I worked with her in the real estate office back in the mid 80s. She was always so pleasant. She and Hal were so talented. I often thought about her over the years. With deepest sympathy.
