When I left my job as an Administrative Systems Analyst at Sikorsky Aircraft, Charlie hired me after just a brief discussion of why I left my cushy corporate job. That discussion lasted about five minutes and it was all he needed to hire me as the Assistant Director of of the Concentrated Employment Program known as CEP. While we didn't always see eye to eye, I always had great respect for Charlie`s dedication to making Bridgeport a better place to live! I will always be thankful for the opportunity he gave me to be part of his mission to heal the wounds of Bridgeport`s inner-city! He was a steadfast warrior against poverty and discrimination. Thank you Charlie for all you did and what you stood for! I honestly can't think of anyone who did more! God bless!

Charles Tisdale was the essence and epitome of what a true leader should be. He was my mentor, employer, and alumni member. It is still surreal to me that he is no longer with us. But I know this--------- that he and Jettie are together again, and will be together eternally. That in itself brings a smile upon my face.

As a teacher at the old Columbus School near Bridgeport Brass, Mr. Tisdale was the one who sparked my interest in science. While working, my career was a scientist/engineer. I am sure he inspired others from Columbus similarly. On top of this individual contribution, Mr. Tisdale gave SO MUCH to the local Bridgeport community.

Charlie helped write the book on the community action movement. He was never afraid to take chances saying what needed to be said. He was a leader and an innovator that people in the Community Action world locally and National looked up to and sought advice from. I left a very good job at Sikorsky Aircraft to accept the position of director of ABCD's Pre-vocational component of the Concentrated Employment Program. I never regretted that career move as I had a chance to work and learn from Charlie Tisdale. He was a truly dedicated man of public service. I am proud to say I worked with him and know that he has a lasting legacy of service to the Bridgeport community. May he rest in God's eternal peace!
