Betty's daughter youngest daughter, Donna, and I were best friends from the very first time we met in 2nd grade and are so blessed to remain so, to this day. There aren't many like Donna or Betty Chiappetta; cut from the same cloth, with hearts of gold that have helped countless people in many, many ways over the years. Their generosity for others, whether 2 or 4-legged -is unsurpassed.
Donna's house was the "go-to" house when we were growing up. I remember all of our friends going there and Betty always being the best host. Pizza parties, oreos by the bucketfull, Donna always willing to give the shirt off her back and would open her closet to us all for upcoming dances and parties.
Betty Chiappetta was a most remarkable woman. I was in awe of her strength and business savvy. I remember her still always so polished and professional. She dressed to the nines and was a beautiful woman, with sparkling eyes that could light up the sky, just like Donna's.
I remember her active still at Vee Jay Records. There was a huge fire in the warehouse and Donna & I got to be a part of the clean-up crew. I had such a blast driving to Hollywood with them, always entertained and always on an adventure. I don't think we worked much cleaning the warehouse, mostly, I remember going upstairs often to a restaurant, (I think was called "Stan's") where we ate the best cheesecake in towne. Betty also let me to work at a record shop she owned in Torrance. It was great fun.
I have such high regard for Betty and am happy that she is no longer suffering but is now resting peacefully. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Godsped Mrs. Chiappetta.
