PIQUA – Jeffrey D. "Jeffie" Dawson Jr., 35, of Piqua, died at 5:39 p.m. May 5, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton. He was born Dec. 29, 1980, in Piqua, to Jeff and Lisa (Rouse) Dawson, and they survive.
Other survivors include a son, Devin Nash of Piqua; two daughters, Ruby and Ellieahna Dawson, both of Piqua; a sister, Abigayle (Brad) Erwin of Piqua; paternal grandmother, Shirley Dawson and maternal grandfather, William (Keytha) Rouse, both of Piqua.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Fred Dawson, and maternal grandmother, Marlene Rouse.
Jeff was a graduate of Piqua High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Roosevelt during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a member of Young Life, a dedicated Cincinnati Reds fan, loved the outdoors and music, loved his family and will be dearly missed.
A service to honor his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Butt of Young Life officiating. Visitation will Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Abby and family,
I am so saddened to read about Jeff. He was such a great kid back in sixth grade, and though I didn't see much of him as an adult, I was able to keep up with him to some extent.. He could always make me laugh. I'm so very sorry for your loss, my prayers are with you, and I'm thinking of you.
