Alexander William Chilcott TILLSON - Alexander William Chilcott, 53, of River Road, passed on Monday, June 22, 2015 at his home, after fighting a long courageous battle. He was a resident of Rifton until he built his home in 1992. Alex was born in Benedictine Hospital in Kingston on June 4, 1962, and was the son of Alexander Chilcott, Jr. and Lynn Zacher Chilcott. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1980. At the age of 16, he was employed as a mechanic and tow truck operator for Chilcott’s Garage, the family business. He was very proud to have worked there with his Dad and brother, Michael, and remained employed until his illness in 2002. Alex was an avid race car fan and enjoyed both NASCAR and NHRA drag racing. His passion of drag racing was influenced by growing up watching his Dad race at Lebanon Valley and national events and being part of the crew. He also enjoyed billiards and entertaining his friends in his game room where he shared many happy times. Even though his health was failing, he always played a great game of pool. His quick wit and positive attitude, along with his generosity of spirit made Alex special to all. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother Michael and sister-in-law Jean Chilcott of Ulster Park, and his sister Wendy and brother-in-law William Ritz of Bethlehem, nieces Karissa Coffey and Jessica Chilcott, nephews Michael Jacob Chilcott, Matthew Chilcott, Zachary Chilcott, Nicholas Coffey, and Ryan Kozlowski. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. His Funeral will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Deacon John Eigo will officiate. Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home Inc.
