Mack Suprunowicz, 83, died June 4, 2010, at Bay Shore Medical Center in Bay City, MI, after a long illness. Mack was born on January 17, 1927 to the late Makary and Ida Piotrowski Suprunowicz. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, class of 1945, and was president of the senior class. He proudly served with the U.S. Marines during WWII. After the war, he graduated from U of Michigan in 1950 and was a member of the U of M Athletic Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the Schenectady School District Athletic Hall of Fame. He was the only basketball player to make first team All Big Ten Conference all four years and the only player to make All Conference as a freshman. Mack was also an accomplished golfer, posessing a "zero" handicap for much of his golfing career. Mack was also a member of the Bay City Elks Lodge #88. Survivors include his brothers, Richard (Lorraine) Suprunowicz and Walter (Diana) Suprunowicz; nephews, Michael Suprunowicz, Mark (Michele) Suprunowicz; and niece, Joan (Mark) Brucker; and nine great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his nephew, William Suprunowicz. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family and will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made in Mack's memory to Father George W.
