Virginia A. "Mikie" Stoddard

Virginia A. 'Mikie' Stoddard SchenectadyVirginia A. Mikie Stoddard, 67, of Schenectady, NY passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at her home after a brief illness. Born on June 30, 1946 in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late J. Leonard and Josephine Miller MacIsaac. She was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Linton High School, Schenectady. She was a homemaker and is remembered by her family as a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a communicant of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church and a member of the churches Rosary Society. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by four siblings, Betty Lancto, J. Leonard Jr., John and Stephen MacIsaac. Survivors include her husband, Gene S. Stoddard, whom she married on April 25, 1965; her three children, Major James E. (Kari) Stoddard of Minot, ND, Paul J. (Diane) Stoddard of Latham, NY and Andrea L. (Dion) Warr of Burnt Hills, NY; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Cameron Stoddard, and Kelsey and Alistair Warr; three siblings, Mary (Henry) Pritchard of Schenectady, Austin (Sandra) MacIsaac of Florida and Josie Peeney of Schenectady; a brother-in-law, Gerald Lancto Sr. of Rotterdam; two sisters-in-law, Shirley and Geraldine MacIsaac, both of Schenectady; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady. The Rosary Society will meet at the funeral home at 5:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Church, 1241 State St., Schenectady. The Rosary Society Honorary Pallbearers will meet at 9:15 a.m. at the Church. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
