Robert J. LaBombard Sr.

Robert J. LaBombard Sr. Malta Robert J. (Bob) LaBombard Sr. passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital. He was 76. Born on July 10, 1938 in Blackbrook, NY, he was the son of the late Edward J. LaBombard II and Dorothy Mae LaBombard. He worked as a security guard at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa, retiring after 15 years. Bob loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee with his friends at Malta Meadows. He was a man of few words but many fishing poles which he used daily. In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his loving wife of 37 years, Joyce (Duval) LaBombard and his nephew, Edward K. Bergeron. Survivors include his children, Robert J. LaBombard Jr. of Florida and Patricia Sponcy of Indiana; sisters, Roberta Riddell of Rotterdam Junction and Jane (Ed) Bergeron of Austin, TX; brother, Edward J. (Louise) LaBombard III of Niskayuna; granddaughter, Diana Sponcy of Schenectady; nephews, Edward J. LaBombard IV of Virginia, John Bergeron of Texas; and niece, Robin Bergeron also of Texas. There will be no public calling hours and a private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family.
