James Henry Howard III

James Henry Howard III formerly of Palatine Memorial services for James Henry Howard III will be held at 2 p.m. today, at the Countryside Unitarian Universalist Church, 1025 N. Smith Palatine, IL. Born July 20, 1949, in Oak Park, he passed away May 5, 2005, at home in Mesa, Arizona. He graduated from Palatine High school and from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Mich. with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for many years in computer department at Michigan Tech before moving to Bellvue, Wash. to work with Boeing in Seattle. He then moved to Mesa, Ariz. where he had been working as a support systems analyst at Arizona State University in Tempe for the last 23 years. He was the loving husband of Catherine Litteral; father of Alexandra and Dana Howard; dear brother of Steven (Leni) Howard, Kathleen (Russel) Large, Christine (Stephen) Menk and Karen (Dean) Johnston; uncle to Elizabeth and James Howard, Nathan and Noah Large, Keirra Menk, and Connor and Duncan Johnston; the cherished nephew and godson of Kathleen and Edwin Hueckstaedt; brother in-law of Thomas (Linda) Litteral; and son-in-law of Mary Litteral. He was also a cousin, friend and colleague of many. He was preceeded in death by his parents, James and Lois (nee Borchelt) Howard; and grandparents, James and Violet (nee Geddes) Howard, and Otis and Edna (nee Hegerfeld) Borchelt.
