ROBERT JOHNS Obituary

Robert S. Johns of Mount Prospect since 1955 Robert S. Johns was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy L. Johns; loving father of Robert (Denise Ward) Johns, Marcia (Anthony) Horvath and Rebecca (Harold) Keen; devoted grandfather of Alice Johns, Karina (Andy) Carlson and Patrick Horvath, and Robert Keen and James Keen; cherished great-grandfather of Josephine and Stephanie Carlsonand dear brother of Jane (the late Dale) Robar and Dorothy (the late Neil Finstad and the late Keith Hansen) Hansen, and the late Geraldine (the late Paul) Mullineaux. Born Dec. 21, 1918, in Cherokee, Iowa, he passed away Dec. 18, 2012, at home. Robert was a retired production manager in the bulk cheese division of Kraft Foods. He was A World War II Army veteran. He was also a graduate of Iowa State. Robert was an original member of and still played trumpet with the "Sound of the Big Bands," and was former principal trumpet player with the Mount Prospect Community Band. He also played with the New Horizon Band and the North Shore Senior Stompers. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at 1st United Methodist Church, 1903 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Uncle Bob, what a delight and a treasure
of a human being he is and was. He leaves behind a beautiful family legacy
for all. I'm sure that his lovely wife
and his parents and family are rejoicing in heaven with God's Blessing!! May God wrap his loving
