RUSSELL DOUGLAS BURR

Russell Douglas Burr of West Dundee Russell Douglas Burr, 60, died suddenly on March 31, 2012. He was born to June and Harvey Burr on Feb. 12, 1952, and lived most of his young life in Villa Park, Ill. He attended Willowbrook High School, where he set many school and district records in track and field. He graduated from Illinois State University in 1976, with a master's degree in school psychology and worked for School District 214 for 23 years. He was a loving husband for 25 years to Carrie Godwin Burr, and a devoted father to their children, Terina and Christian Burr. Russ was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Nancy Morehouse, and is survived by his wife and children; sisters, Wendy Brown, Bonnie Ketter and brother, Garry Burr. Russ was a gentle and caring person who enjoyed sports, reading, researching the John F. Kennedy assassination, traveling, movies, and nature. He was dearly loved by his family and will be sorely missed. A celebration of Russ' life will be held Tuesday, April 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott in West Dundee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Terina and Christian's college fund. Donations can be sent directly to the family.
