Cecelia Huffstetler Burr, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, in Gastonia, NC, surrounded by her beloved children and granddaughter. Born on April 8, 1947, in Cramerton, NC, to the late Kenneth Hall and Dora Alice Norris Huffstetler. Cecelia filled her years with love, dedication, and a passion for family.
Cecelia devoted many years to her career, proudly retiring as a Deputy Clerk through United State’s Federal Bankruptcy Court, where she made lasting contributions to her workplace and the community; where she retired in 2012. However, her greatest pride and joy always lay in her family, particularly her children and granddaughter. As a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Cecelia created countless warm memories with those she adored.
Left to cherish her memory are, her children Emily Burr and Jamie Burr; granddaughter, Carly Rose Burr; brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Huffstetler, Jr.; sister, Twynkle Huffstetler (Linda Childers); her brother in laws, Barry McCummings, Raymond Burr and Robert Burr (Patricia) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death are her husband, James Garland Burr; parents, Kenneth Hall Huffstetler and Dora Alice Norris Huffstetler; sister, Janice McCummings and sister in laws, Betty Burr Fowler, Becky Howell Burr and Margaret Burr Palmeri.
Cecelia will be remembered for her unwavering love, nurturing spirit, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey. Her family gathers in gratitude for the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
A Graveside service will be 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10th at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, 5323 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054
