Larry Eugene Burr passed away on March 8, 2026, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
Larry was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and had been a long-time resident of Ocean Springs. He earned his associate’s degree and proudly served his country in the United States Army for 24 years, reaching the rank of First Sergeant, and serving in the Vietnam War. Larry was awarded the Bronze Star for his service achievements. After retiring from the Army, he continued serving his community through a 15-year career with the United States Postal Service.
Larry enjoyed baseball, spending time with his dogs, and was an avid Ole Miss fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Philip Burr and Ethel Marie Strider Burr, as well as his siblings Betty, Billy Sue, Geraldine, and Buddy Burr.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sam Ye Burr; his children, Mark Burr and Richard Burr; and his sisters, Glenda Jones and Doris Patton.
The family extends their thanks to everyone for their kindness and support during this time.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS 39531.
