SHELDON G. SCHULTZ

1936 - 2019

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Sheldon G. Schultz was born on May 11, 1936 in Chicago to Emile and Ruth (nee July) Schultz. He died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in Arlington Heights. Mr. Schultz was Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Scranton Gillette Communications in Arlington Heights. Prior to retirement in 2009, he served as president and publisher and served on numerous professional boards. He was a past member of the Arlington Heights Planning Commission. Mr. Schultz was also a Deacon of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights. He loved music, photography, and travel for both business and pleasure. One of his primary passions was working with volunteer agencies and mentoring others in the publishing field. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchild, and was loved and respected by all. Sheldon is survived by his spouse of 60 years, Sharon (nee White), children, Michael (Laura) Schultz, Gregory Schultz and Robert Schultz; grandchildren, Patrick Schultz and Allison (Matt) Townley, great-granddaughter, Zara Townley; sister, Karen Swenson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 1:00 pm until the 4:00 pm Memorial Service, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Chicago Area Service Office, 180 N.
