Carole Ford Obituary

Carole T. Ford, 67, of West Chester, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011, after a 4½-year battle with breast cancer at Neighborhood Hospice.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred Thompson.
She lived in West Chester for 35 years where she and her husband raised their four children.
She was a devoted wife and mother extraordinaire who lived her life for her family.
She also loved spending time in West Cape May, N.J., on the First Avenue beach.
Carole is survived by her husband, Franklin R. Jr.; her four children, Robert F. (Debbie) Ford, James T. Ford, Thomas M. Ford and Lauren L. (Doug) Conrad. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert Ford Jr., Ryan Ford, Rebecca Ford, Tyler Rigby, Trevor Conrad, Amanda Conrad and Douglas Conrad.
She was predeceased by her brother, William Thompson; and her sister, Marge Murphy.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, at Advent Lutheran Church, 1601 Green Lane, West Chester.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday in church before the service.
Contributions may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.

As an old friend of Tom Ford, I got to know Mrs. Ford well. She was a wonderful mother and loved her family so much. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My heart goes out to Tom and the rest of the Ford family.

So sorry to hear that Carol lost her courageous battle with cancer as she was truly a special person. She was the first 'friend' I made when moving to Yeadon in 1958 and we had many great memories at the Pool
